January in Review
It was January. It's that reclusive, dark and bitterly cold time of year where all you want to do is hide indoors with a good cup of tea, an enthralling story and a warm cuddly blanket. Yet, I've been surprised this new year. I have said "hola" to the great El Niño that is warming Canada and bringing our temperatures, at times, to ten degrees above average. It's both confusing and awesome when you wake up in January to rain on your windowpane and crocuses popping up in the garden. Seriously! But not every day has been that good. Two days ago I went to run errands and the bitter cold wind had me sobbing like a little girl. It's snowed intermittently, yet it seldom stays very long. This is the kind of winter I could get used to.
