Hot Fashions for New Year's
New Year's Eve is tomorrow! It's always such an exciting time. Whether you're looking to go out drinking, hosting a cocktail party for friends, or having a romantic night at home, it's great to get dressed up for the occasion. I used to go out with my friends all the time on New Year's, even though it was never anything more than just getting a little drunk and wearing awesome 90's clubwear. For me, New Year's has become synonymous with great fashion! If I were to hit the streets in style this year, here is what I'd wear!
(Main Photo) If I were attending a party or event with a more formal dress code, I would sport this gorgeous black dress from Sherri Hill. It totally reminds me of Morticia Addams! I would wear it with these fab bi-color platform shoes from MissGuided. I love the combination of silver and black suede. It's ultra chic. For a simple accessory, I've used this glamorous star headband from Nasty Gal. It really brings out the silver in the shoes. The makeup that I would use to enhance this look would be a dark lipstick, like a burgundy shade, paired with a glittery neutral coloured eyeshadow. ***It's a good idea to pair any dark lipstick with a neutral eyeshadow because it doesn't overpower your look.

All that glitters is gold
For this mood board I wanted to create a look that was more innocent and girly. It's kind of inspired by my fascination with Lolita fashion and street fashion. I chose this dress from Obscure Couture because it features gold star appliques. When you think of New Year's, don't you instantly think of gold stars?! Maybe it's just me and my adoration for anything star related! For accessories, I used this adorable little silver unicorn purse that I found on Mod Cloth. I also found these star earrings from Nasty Gal, which really compliment the dress. For shoes, I chose these sick white pleather platforms by YRU! I'd love to own these babies. Finally, for makeup I would use a matte black eyeshadow, contrasted by this gold eyeliner from I Am Sin.

This look is reminiscent of my New Year's as a teen; glittery, raver fashions with rainbow bracelets, bright makeup and weird shoes! I paired this skirt from Iron Fist with this cool looking gold bustier. I knew I wanted metallic in the shoes as well, but I wasn't sure what to go with. After exhausting a list of really mediocre looking pieces, I came across these insane heels from Privileged. I don't think I've ever seen anything like these in my life before. You either love 'em or hate 'em, but you can't deny that they make a statement, and that's just what this outfit needs to keep it from looking too simplified.
Pots of Gold & Rainbows
I didn't want to use the obvious makeup and accessories for this outfit, so I decided to contrast the use of black and gold with a more electrifying colour palette. I chose this gorgeous teal eyeshadow from Sugarpill, it makes me think of oxidized metal which I think marries well with the gold in this outfit. I wanted to pair the eyeshadow with something just as powerful which is why I went with a bright fuchsia coloured lipstick. Finally, I finished the look off with a rainbow choker, really, any holographic piece would look stellar with this outfit!

I'm thinking of wearing something unusual for New Year's even though I'll probably just stay home with my man. It's nice to dress up just for fun because I find it makes me feel better. I feel more confident and happy when I'm all jazzed up! What are you doing for New Year's?
